Our Commitment to Our Donors

The DONNA Foundation (“TDF,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all philanthropic activities. We value the trust our donors place in us and are dedicated to safeguarding their personal information.

This Donor Privacy Policy supplements, and should be read in conjunction with, The DONNA Foundation’s main Privacy Policy, which governs the collection and use of personal information across our Website, programs, and services. In the event of any inconsistency, this Donor Privacy Policy applies specifically to donors and donor-related information.

The Executive Director may amend or update this Policy at any time, with or without prior notice to donors or prospective donors.

This Policy supplements our main Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy for additional information about how we handle personal data.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to all individuals involved in donor engagement, stewardship, and resource development, including:

  • Philanthropy and development staff
  • Board of Directors
  • Contractors and consultants
  • Office and program volunteers
  • Any individual with responsibility for donor-related information

All Philanthropic Staff and Volunteers sign or agree to a confidentiality pledge and are expected to exercise professionalism, good judgment, and care to prevent unauthorized disclosure of donor information.

This Policy applies to personal information received by The DONNA Foundation through:

  • Online donations or forms
  • Offline donations (checks, mail, events, etc.)
  • Fundraising platforms and applications
  • Event registrations
  • Electronic, written, or oral communications

2. Our Commitment to Donor Privacy

We will not:

  • Sell, rent, or trade donor names or personal information with any other entity.
  • Share donor information with other organizations for their marketing or fundraising purposes.
  • Send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

We may share donor-related information only:

  • Internally, with authorized personnel, and
  • Externally, only when necessary to process donations or to comply with law.

We may share with donors, beneficiaries, or grantees information related to their own gifts, funds, or grants.

3. Types of Donor Information We Collect

We may collect donor information such as:

  • Name and contact details
  • Donation history
  • Gift amount, restrictions, and preferences
  • Employer (for matching gifts)
  • Event participation
  • Communication preferences
  • Any additional information voluntarily provided

Financial Information:

Payment card data submitted through our donation forms is processed securely by third-party payment providers (such as Blackbaud). The DONNA Foundation does not store or access full credit card numbers or banking information.

4. Third-Party Fundraising and Peer-to-Peer Campaigns

Third-party fundraisers and individual peer-to-peer fundraisers may have access to certain donor information, including:

  • Donor name
  • Donation amount

They do not receive access to payment card details or sensitive personal information.

5. Anonymous Donations

The DONNA Foundation honors all requests to remain anonymous.

Primary Foundation staff members may still access donor and gift information as necessary to process the donation, maintain accurate records, and honor donor intent.

6. Use of Third-Party Processors

When donations are processed through a third-party platform (including Blackbaud, RunSignUp, or other fundraising applications), donor information is used only for purposes necessary to:

  • Process the donation
  • Generate receipts
  • Maintain records
  • Support donor stewardship

These vendors are prohibited from using donor information for unrelated purposes.

7. Donor Communication Preferences

Donors may request to be removed from:

  • Email lists
  • Mailing lists
  • Phone call lists

We will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests promptly.

8. Regulatory Disclosure

A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES BY CALLING TOLL-FREE (800-435-7352) WITHIN THE STATE. REGISTRATION DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT, APPROVAL, OR RECOMMENDATION BY THE STATE.

The State of Florida registration number of The DONNA Foundation, Inc. is CH27287.

The DONNA Foundation, Inc. retains 100% of contributions received.

9. Donor Bill of Rights

The DONNA Foundation adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights to ensure ethical and transparent stewardship of all contributions.
