This inaugural event, presented by Venus, features a multi-tiered endurance event, a street festival, and an Icemen Hockey game. Participants in the endurance event will select the total number of steps on their course. There are FOUR options to choose from – Team Puck, Team Stick, Hat Trick Challenge and the Goalie. Included in your registration fee is a game ticket–additional tickets may be purchased with the proceeds benefiting The DONNA Foundation AND all day parking.
The Pucks, run a quick fun course along the concourse level of Veterans Memorial Arena that features 4 flights of stairs or approximately 100 stairs, with the finishing leg passing through the arena bowl before exiting the building to finish in the middle of our street party.
The Sticks, run a similar course, however, this group kicks it up a notch by including a 5-level “turning” staircase. The Sticks adventure also has them passing through the arena bowl but before exiting they must run a pathway of narrow stairways. This group will attack just over 250 individual stairs.
The Goalie is ideal for younger enthusiasts and families. The Goalie lap is a short, flat concourse lap.
Our Hat Trick Challenge is for those select few strong enough to complete all three events and who enjoy a “challenge race.” How many steps can you conquer?
Following the award presentation at 4:00 pm, the street block in front of the arena will be the site of an exciting winter street festival with vendors, food trucks, interactive gaming trucks, music, and more. Capping the day is the last home game of the calendar year for the Jacksonville Icemen, against their in-state rivals the Orlando Solar Bears. Don’t miss the opportunity to join us at the very beginning of a new DONNA tradition—The DONNA Puck & Stick Stair Challenge.
