Registration for 2027 race weekend is now open
Jacksonville, Fla. – July 14, 2026 – The DONNA Foundation today opened registration for the 20th Running of DONNA Marathon Weekend, a milestone celebration that will bring thousands of runners, survivors, volunteers and supporters to Jacksonville February 5–7, 2027.
DONNA Marathon Weekend serves as a cornerstone of The DONNA Foundation’s Survivorship, Education and Awareness Program. As the organization’s premier annual event, it celebrates those living with breast cancer while generating critical funding to advance the Foundation’s mission to provide hope, support and financial relief for those living with breast cancer.
Over the last two decades, more than 300,000 athletes have crossed DONNA finish lines in celebration of survivorship, helping The DONNA Foundation serve more than 22,000 families, secure more than $7 million in financial services and debt relief, and invest more than $3.3 million in groundbreaking breast cancer research.
The 2027 theme, Love in Motion, celebrates the power of choosing hope over fear and recognizing that every step forward is made possible by those who came before us. Inspired by founder Donna Deegan’s enduring message of seeing life through ‘rose-colored glasses,’ the anniversary theme honors two decades of survivors, families, volunteers and runners who continue to move the mission forward.
Founder, three-time breast cancer survivor and Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan launched the race series in 2008 to help families facing breast cancer overcome financial barriers to care. The anniversary theme draws inspiration from Deegan’s memoir, Through Rose Colored Glasses, and the perspective that has guided both her personal journey and the Foundation’s work for more than two decades: choosing love over fear.
“DONNA Marathon Weekend means so much to so many people, and this year’s theme is a tribute to everyone who is part of it,” Deegan said. “We have made tremendous strides toward a future that is incredibly bright –– one without breast cancer. There may be more hills to climb, but I hold fast to the belief that nothing is impossible when we choose love over fear. The 20th running of DONNA Marathon Weekend is a milestone worthy of celebration, and I look forward to running beside so many of our friends, family, supporters and survivors next year.”
The DONNA Foundation continues its partnership with Hilton Jacksonville at Mayo Clinic as the official host hotel for DONNA Marathon Weekend, including the Health & Wellness Expo and post-race celebrations.
DONNA Marathon Weekend draws participants from across the country each year, generating more than $4 million in annual economic impact for Northeast Florida, while showcasing Jacksonville’s beaches, hospitality and vibrant running community.
From first-time walkers to Boston qualifiers, DONNA Marathon Weekend offers something for every participant, including the marathon, half marathon, 5K, DONNA Dash and the third annual Pete’s Bar DONNA Crawl. All events begin at Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach.
Throughout the anniversary year, participants will experience special commemorative programming, expanded storytelling, enhanced survivor recognition and fundraising experiences and other celebrations honoring the 20th running of DONNA Marathon Weekend.
Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spot and take advantage of early bird pricing. Registration is available now at breastcancermarathon.com. Registrations completed on July 14 receive a 10% launch-day discount.
“The 20th Running is not simply a celebration of where we’ve been,” said Amanda Napolitano, Executive Director of The DONNA Foundation. “It’s an invitation to be part of what comes next. Every registration, every fundraiser, every volunteer and every survivor who joins us helps move love forward for someone facing breast cancer. That’s what Love in Motion means, and that’s the future we’re building together.”
The DONNA Marathon and Half Marathon have been recognized by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards and voted Best in Jax by Jacksonville Magazine. The DONNA Marathon is also an Abbott World Marathon Majors Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Ranking qualifying race.
DONNA Marathon Weekend is more than a race series. It is a movement powered by survivors, fueled by community and united by one belief: together, we can finish breast cancer.
