Our DONNA Board of Directors made a few exciting changes over the last few months naming a new Chairman and adding new faces. Our outgoing Chair, Kirsten Sabia (PGA Tour), passed the leadership role to incoming Chair, Amy Mergen (FIS), late last summer. The full board also voted to add three new members this past December.  Joining this all volunteer board are Nick Furris (Spectrum Films), Allen Skipper (formerly of Peak10), and Melissa Circelli (Black Knight).

Meet Amy Mergen

Amy Mergen is a native of Madison, WI and a proud University of Wisconsin graduate (Go Badgers!).

She moved to Jacksonville with her husband and two sons (now ages 16 and 19) in July 2010.  Amy serves as Chief of Staff to the CEO of FIS, a financial technology provider to a wide variety of financial services clients across the globe.

Amy was diagnosed with bi-lateral breast cancer in 2013 and over the course of that year underwent treatment, including bilateral mastectomy, lymphotomy with reconstruction and chemotherapy.  This year she celebrates her fifth year of survivorship – and doesn’t take a single day for granted.

Amy came to The DONNA Foundation via the Galloway Training program, which was an integral part of her recovery from treatment.  She is a happy run-walk-runner – and has completed four half-marathons.  Her passion for The DONNA centers on 1) paying forward all the love and support that she received when she was undergoing her treatment, and 2) finding new treatments and cures to finish this disease.

Amy has served on the board of The DONNA Foundation since June of 2016.  She assumed the role of Chair of the Board in March 2018 and looks forward to helping lead the organization into its next chapter.
